Favourite Music Video 3: Empty With You.

The Used - Empty With You.

The thing that strikes me the most about this video, is that most of it is done on a normal camera, instead of a video camera. For example on most Canon's and Nikon's you can hold down the "Capture" button and it'll take multiple, shot after shot, creating this effect.

Although, not all of this video is built up of pictures, there is a few moments of pure footage.

This was filmed while they were on tour, recently. I really like the way it cuts from Bert (the lead singer) in the motel room, to footage of the sky/ banners/ stage/ crowd/ other band members, as if it's a montage, of themselves looking back on their tour.

The footage of the sky or Bert standing in front of the sunset, are my favourite shots because even though it's nothing special, they're just really beautiful shots, and compliment the director's work.

This video was directed by Nate Weaver. He specialises in this genre of music, and does a lot of performance mixed with beautiful/emotive imagery.
Here are some of the other videos he has directed.

The variety of shots is crucial. Close ups are really affective in this music video.
