MORE PLANS.

Tomorrow is pretty much the last day of filming, so we're coming in early to film the memory scene with Rob and myself. I'm quite excited to get this done, and play around with the different depths and compositions.
We're all needed for Emma/Rob/Christina's video so we'll go and help them out and then in return they could help us out with the studio/end scene, where we need some people to be there. This wouldn't take long because it's mostly close ups of feet/ hands etc.

Today I wasn't in because I've been ill. I have no time to rest so I keep getting worse! But I did come into Cambridge at 1 to help out Hannah's group at the Junction.

PLAN

Tuesday:
Film the studio scene - Music Room in Drama/ Performing Arts Block.
The drama department let us use a spare music room, which was very nice of them, because we can't use behind the stage anymore due to health and safety. We managed to film everything we needed for this segment, including some cutaways!

Wednesday:
Helping Hannah and Emma with props and costumes and sets.
Staying after college to help.

Thursday:
Close up and variety of shots of Rob playing Guitar.
Cutaways of Nature.

Friday:
Studio Scene - Shots of feet/hands/ movement.
CLOSE UPS OR EXTREME CLOSE UPS!
WE NEED TO CREATE THE ILLUSION OF MORE PEOPLE!

Wednesday.

In the morning, I went into town with Emma to help her buy props for her music video.
We found lots of tea cups, jars, playing cards and picked up little things that she needed to complete her mise-en-scene.

Then when we got to college we spent the our lesson time taking photos of the costume for Emma/ Rob/ Christina's video and then making props. We also helped Hannah with the costume photos and we had to redo the dance routine in our outfits, to see if it worked.

We then went to lesson, and we were learning about the music industry.
I am in MEGASHARK.

After college I stayed to help with Emma/ Rob/ Christina's Music Video. The set looked awesome; the weather was shocking and we had to cut early because of it!

My photos don't do the set justice! It looked so good!

My Style

This is the style of music videos I want to make (eventually).
Jamie T is one of my favourite artists; there's just something about him that I find really charming and his music cheers me up.

This is his video to Sticks n Stones.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9APEZMeH0o
for some reason nowhere would let me embed it! so just click the link.

I love this video because of the style. The mixture between hand held footage and tripod footage is perfect. There's something about it that really inspires me.

Another one of Jamie T's videos I adore is The Man's Machine.
My love for this video is because of the colours and the added feature of archive footage. The idea of friends is the key themes in his video, that's why they're so interesting! In my opinion this video is perfect; I can't fault any of it!

I've been trying to find out who directs most of his videos, but the search is hopeless!
All his videos are amazing, and you can watch more here:

DigiPak Draft

Over the half term I didn't manage to get the original idea done, because on the way to my friends house I was in a car accident (nothing serious) but I ended up feeling okay when I got to hers, but in the morning of the next day (when we planned to take photos) I was sick and ended up in A+E. I was sent home to rest and recover. The only time I managed to take photos was on Friday at my brothers house; set & props were limited, but we did the best we could.
I will upload some of the other images later.

TODAY.

Today and tomorrow I'm going to take pictures for the digipak.
I'm quite excited because it's given me a huge excuse to go stay at my best friend's house for two days!
As far as I know, I don't think France is happening anymore, which is a shame but at least now we can focus on the ancillary task.

This is the weather for the week:
It looks pretty gross! but the weather is updated every hour, so tomorrow could have sunny intervals.
Either way we'll get our photos done- Katie has this amazing wallpaper in our room; it's yellow and flowery; really lovely because you contrast against it!
We'll get some photos of outside as well because even if they do look miserable, I won't and there is always photoshop to make they day look nicer!

Above is the weather for today. I hope it changes a tiny bit! My artist isn't the sort of album for grey, boring, miserable pictures.

I'm considering taking my video camera with me to document the day and then have it as extra research, But i'll not 100% sure at the moment.

Friday.

I was ill again(!!!!) on Friday. It's just ridiculous!

This is what Ali an Jahmal did on Friday.
I like the footage; it's really sweet and has a lot of energy in some parts.
I appreciate the extras taking their time to help out our group.
However I think that when we really film this scene (hopefully back at long road behind the stage) the background will create a much more energetic atmosphere and more people will be there too. If this was our actual footage, I would zoom in because there is too much free space and it doesn't create the illusion of many people.
Also Rob learnt the guitar to our song so he deserves a massive THANK YOU ROB!!!

I am really happy we got all of our main test footage done.

Thursday.

Today the weather was disgusting! If we filmed today then the footage wouldn't have been convincing because of how horrible and cold the atmosphere was!
Hannah was worried about her music video because one of her group members has been ill for a while and their group still needed a dance routine.
Tilly, Emma & Myself have done dance since we were young so we today we decided to put together a routine.
By 12.15 we had a dance routine for the whole song, and also helped Hannah out with costume ideas.

Here are some pictures of the dance routine:

My group worked on their digipak because Jahmal doesn't have Photoshop available at home so he appreciated the time in today's lessons to work on this.

Update.

I decided to do today's post as a video.

TEST FOOTAGE

Tuesday Part 1

Schedule for today:
10.50 - 12.20: Photography for Ancillary task in the art woodland part of long road.
1.05 - 2.40: Memory Scene in the field or art woodland part of long road.
2.40 - 4.10 - Cutaways of Nature. Outside.

In the first session we were suppose to film out cutaways but the cameras only had 12 minutes of battery left, so we decided to work on our ancillary task. We chose to do them in the outside space at long road. It's really lovely and the mis-en-scene is beautiful.

Here are some of my favourites:

They have a lot of potential for editing etc.

Animatic.

This is my groups animatic.
We choose to storyboard for the build up towards the end of the song (1.56 - 2.33).
We wanted to show the montage of clips from all different segments and help build up an atmosphere.
The animatic is just a vague representation of what the build up will look like; some shots (following girl into/out of crowd & girl in trees) will be shot differently, but final cut couldn't express how we wanted them to look, so we added slight motion to them.

Below are some screen shots from Final Cut & our Story board:

Outfits.

Memory Outfit:
Simple Blue Polka Dot Dress.

Other Outfits for the Studio Scene. These are just IDEAS; nothing is set in stone yet.

I tried to stay as far away from jeans as possible. Skirts; dresses and leggings will work well in our video. I also tried to contrast the outfits so when they cut together they'll be really noticeable.
